You could just let him know you're not gay, but if he wants to be buddies that's cool. If you want to learn to be a DJ, hanging out with gay dudes can help a lot.
I have a friend who's a complete DJ, but when we were younger he wasn't smooth at all. I asked him what helped him change.
Turns out he had some gay friends after high school (back when me and him had drifted apart), and would go with them to gay bars some times. Noticing the way that HE felt when a guy approached him made him realize how to approach women. Some guys would just say things right off the bat that made him feel dirty (much like the guys on this site who come up with absurd openers that are wayyyyy to sexual from the get go), but some guys came up and just engaged him in conversation and before he knew it he was having a good time chatting with this guy. Really simple stuff like, "hey, I like those pants, where'd you get them?"
And that's how he approaches women now. A little ****y and funny, but overall he's just a good conversationalist who dresses and carries himself well.
More than all the techniques and openers and "frame control" and all that garbage all you really need to know how to do is carry on a conversation with a girl and be confident.
