is it possible to make your muscles grow bigger, while reducing your bodyfat?
i am around 10% and my abs are pretty visible. i want them to be perfect within 45 days, when i'll go to the beach, but i'd also like to keep growing

is this impossible?

90% of trainers would say no.

60% of trainers will say you need a liitle fat to gain.

Many will say you don't have to 'bulk' as such to gain and this just leaves you with fat to lose later.

If you're very skinny a good old bulk will give you some momentum and any fat will not be noticed.

Those who want to gain, yet are fixated on keeping their abs showing are destined to stay lean and small.

If I was you I'd get on a dedicated muscle/strength board. All you need to know is there, just read.

im hoping it is because thats what i want to do. I do a lot of cycling, im not planning to get huge just bigger, my problem is that my muscles could get eaten away if i eat less.

Im going to slight reduce the amount of food i eat yet mostly actuly keep to my cycling training plan a bit better.

It will be a slower process but i hope that if i eat a lot of protein my muscles will still be rebuilt more then they are destroyed.

My dad is right now on his way to town where he is hopefully buying me a 50kg set of weights, not bad for £40, there where better sets but this is really all i could afford seeing as i need to spend £600 on a new racing bike, well new to me, 2nd hand i cant afford a new bike lol

Perfectly possible although muscle gains might be slower than when on a dedicated 'bulk' - as such I don't go in for bulking or cutting, but I've found a way which works pretty well for me, to bulk and cut/maintain bodyfat at the same time.

To do this you'd have to have your diet nailed and be meticulous about what you eat and when.

To be frank I wouldn't expect to cut AND bulk, but I WOULD expect to bulk while maintaining current bodyfat (which would be reduced anyway by the presence of new muscle) - it's easier that way. A lot is dependent on your metabolism - give me an idea of what your body is like and I'll try to make more specific suggestions.

For the record, I agree with the idea that 'bulking' diets are just an excuse to become a fat slob for a while in the happy thought that you're gaining muscle. I'd much rather eat intelligently all year round and avoid these stupid bulk/cut cycles.

ok warboss, here are my stats:

height: 5'9
weight: 140 lbs (i started at 130, got to 147, but then became ill and lost some lbs)

i can eat a lot, without becoming fat, even though when i'm above 9% bodyfat, my belly sometimes starts getting bigger and bigger

would it be a good idea to drink tons of milk? i can't drink whole milk, since i have an allergy to lactose, so my refrigerator is full of zymil milk (3,3g proteins, don't remember the carbs, 0,1g of fat, if i'm not wrong)

Tons of milk? Easy calories and protein but one diet component isn't the be-all and end-all.

Eat about 300g of protein daily and get yourself on a decent routine - cardio in the a.m. to keep lean, 3 or 4 times a week (on offdays maybe) should do it. Eat big but cut out starchy carbs in your evening meals and see what happens.
