Just broke off a 2 year relationship because I was tired of being in a relationship and didn't want to drag it on. Thing is I love this girl, but am not IN love with her.
She was devastated. I mean absolutely heart-broken. I'm not very good at communicating so I just had to make it a clean break. She thought everything was fine but all I could think about was other women and being single and all the opportunities I was missing out on. I can't stay in a relationship when I'm not fully invested. It was painful, as are all breakups.
Hard part now is we have ALL the same friends. How do you guys cope with this? I want us to be friends, shes awesome, but I don't want a relationship/sex from her.
Is it more devastating to a girl to say "Let's be friends" or should I just continue with no contact. I know that detachment will make this easier for her but pretty soon our social lives are going to overlap again and we will see eachother out and about.
Any advice? I can really appreciate another point of view on this.
