I am trying to arrange another get away to asia this year but I think its going to cost me a grand more than it did last year for the ticket there. Honestly, I might as well bike to vancouver and swim to SE asia. Or I could spend the winter sarging asian chicks in DT Toronto.
You know what? It's getting fuking ridiculous. My parents own a resort in Ontario, and business has been down. One of our long time customers phoned us up one night depressed and angered that that the economy was so ****ty in the states that he might not be able to come up this summer even for only a couple of days. It is really fvcked up when millions of hard working people are forced to take a "staycation." That reminds me of that episode of Corner Gas where Brent goes and sits on his lawn chair pretending to be in different places arround the world. Maybe that is what I will do this year.
There was a conference that my family catered here sometime ago that was mostly about manufacturing and how we are going to keep up with the chinese. One of the guys presenting there (actually a couple of them) were inventors. He had invented a machine that would in theory provide us with FREE energy. He had constructed a model of the machine and it was doing atleast 20,000 rpm. The only problem with the design was that it needed someone or something to opperate it. Though I don't think that that is much of a problem that a few more years and a decent government grant wouldn't fix. Point being, we are so close to having alternative energy sources.
It is a fvcking sin what the oil companies are getting away with. Microsoft makes about the same amount as an oil company does, but from I remember they got demonized and hacked in half by the (american) government for monopolizing the market, yet Bush and his ****ing cronies haven't done a god damn thing to keep the oil companies from monopolizing every ****ing industry in the world.
I may or may not be over simplifying the problem(s), but one thing is for sure, North American governments for the last 8 years haven't done jack **** to atleast alleviate the problem let alone work towards a solution.
