Anyone else notice this phenomenon?

When I tended bar I could almost ALWAYS tell when there was a full moon without even looking outside. People act STRANGE. It's no coincidence.

I looked up at the sky tonight and saw a big, bright moon that looked full. So I came home and checked, and tomorrow is indeed a full moon.

I haven't been out in a couple of weeks. I'm gonna make it a point to get out tomorrow night. Should be interesting

The police say the same about 9-1-1 calls and hospital staff say the same thing about emergency rooms but studies show there's no real effect. I really doubt that any more than a handful people notice a full moon, especially considering our geographic area where the view of the moon is almost always blocked by trees and buildings. It's coincidence and the fragility of the human mind to seek out patterns where none may exist.

I think you're trying to see a pattern that isn't there.

If you hadn't posted this, I wouldn't have even known about a full moon. I know I don't care whether it's a full moon or not, and most others probably don't care either.

I probably will do something tonight, but I only go out/do something if I feel like it, and whether it's a full moon or not makes no difference.

I think it's like being afraid of Friday the 13th, or the number 13 in general.

Okay, so police, hospitals, and bartenders all say the same thing, but there's no correlation? How can that be?

When I worked the bar I worked in an enclosed building where I couldn't see the moon. And there were NUMEROUS times where I would notice my patrons behaving oddly, where I would turn to a fellow bartender and say "Must be a full moon tonight!" And sure enough, it was a full moon.

I've noticed it being out on the town myself too, although to a much lesser extent. When you are working SERVING people it's easy to note odd patterns of behavior. When you are on the other side of the counter it's not so obvious cause your drinking and having a good time if you are out and about.

Come to think of it, it was about a month ago that I posted about the pizza incident.

Just looked it up. I posted that on June 3rd, in the WEE hours of the morning, just a little more than a day after the full moon. Coincidence? that kind of thing doesn't happen to me very often!

Now that I am conscious of it tonight I'm gonna pay attention

But think about all the full moons where nothing memorable happened. This is just like telephone telepathy (someone calling you right as you pick up the phone to call them); it's not so impressive when you consider all the times it doesn't work.

Just because they say they notice there are more weird happenings during a full moon doesn't mean there really are. Maybe they're aware of the myth and convince themselves that there are more emergencies, more 911 calls etc when there really aren't. If statistics show that there isn't any correlation, then that's the way it is.

In hell. I'm Satan's lover.
It's the same concept as inner game beliefs. You think you're the prize you'll notice the times you are in reinforce your belief. If you think you suck you'll notice all the times you crash and burn and set yourself up for failure. As Deep Dish said, you only notice the times something does happen but all the other times don't come to mind.
