I tried this with an internet girl. It seemed to work really well, but I think I ultimately scared her. She e-mailed me back for a week or more. She said a lot of things that indicated high interest. But, in the end I think something scared her.
Might work better on girls in the real world. I always wanted to try it. Not out of weakness, but just for sh!ts and giggles. As a sort of experiment. I wanted to try it with a 9 or 10. Some girl who has never had such a thing happen from a straight guy before in her entire life. Could be interesting.....

Oh, the strategy is to tell her that she'd make a nice friend or to LJBF her right away.
Then, you use a bit of kino and tease her a lot, while remaining mysterious and being a challenge. You never (or rarely ever) give her a direct answer to her questions. You go out with her only once or twice a week, and you unmercifully hit on every pretty girl you can, in front of her.
If she has any interest in you at all, it will build until she bursts. She'll supposedly burst out and get all upset with you or make a serious romantic or sexual move on you.
That's the general theory. I never tried it. I have considered it, but it's not really my style.

I used it once , actually twice on the one girl. I was AFC back in these days, but i wasn't too clueless, i knew girls played games so i played them back ;
Once, she asked me for a hug, so i reach over and gave her one - she wouldn't let go, held me so tight, but when it finished and she said thank you, i replied with "what are friends for".
The next time, i gave her a flower - i actually yanked it from the rose bush i walked past through the park and she's like "oh, ur so sweet' and again - "no worries, thats what friends are for".
