If you're looking for a wife then sure. There is no quicker way to the altar than dating a FOAF (friend of a friend), except for maybe dating a FOTF (friend of the family). When you combine your social circle with your dating circle, it tends to rope you into one long term monogamous committed relationship. Because if you ditch the girl or she ditches you, you have to give up many of your mutual friends as well, some of whom will choose her, some of whom will choose you.

I have a couple of female friends who are very cool and funny and whom I have no attraction for but like to grab a beer with on occasion.
