My brother has a friend who is an insane sprinter, naturally athletic, and pretty much only fast-twitch muscle fibers (my bro said he sucks in distance). But basically this kid as a 7th grader went 19 seconds in his 200m dash for his physical testing. My bro said he remembered that he himself got around 30 seconds and by the time he was halfway around the track, his friend was just about to finish. He also said his PE teacher freaked out when he saw the time. Now obviously there may have been some something up, but I asked my brother if he honestly believes that his friend went the world record time when he was in 7th grade. He said he thought about it over the years and because of how outrageous it seemed and tried rationalizing everything, but in the end what he saw was too real. His friend even said that was the fastest he ever ran in his life. He didn't even do track until after that event because everyone told him that he should. he ended up quitting though before high school.

I just look at those things like what am I doing wrong. I always wished I was a genetic freak. Anyone know how to change their genetics? (we essentially can through epigenetics, but how is one supposed to do so?)

At that age his friend may have ran 23-24 seconds if he was fast. Your friend probably did it in 35. Speed can be developed but you need power. These guys also ride adrenaline. So you might be put there chilling not being competitive and power and adrenaline is flowing thru them. It makes a huge difference.

My brother did it in 30, he remembers. His friend did it in 19. He remembers that clearly too because that's not something you forget. You don't come across those people too often, but it does happen I guess.

I don't believe it. The world record Waa stuck at 19.83 seconds for 40 years. This is in highly trained, coached and drugged sprinters. You cannot develop that much without taking the time to develop.

Maybe they did 150m. Its like saying a seventh grader with no coaching, no development no training is going to smoke swimmer Michael Phelps by 10 body lengths.

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

Swimming is different. It isn't a natural movement or environment for humans, whereas walking and running is. Though maybe it was 150 meters because it was at a middle school.
