So I managed this annoying little thing the other day playing football (soccer to you Americans), now I've been going gym for the past 6 months, haven't actually put on any weight, but am much stronger than I was when I first started, and am much more toned as well.

Basically the only question I have is if you guys know of any ways I can keep the muscle I have gained without going to the gym, or exercising my body? I'm pretty much useless until the cast comes off at the very least, if not until it's healed completely. I mean I can't even do a press-up because of the way my thumb is placed in the cast, and pull-ups are difficult too as I cannot grasp the bar quite right with my left hand.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Not sure if your goal is weight gain or not....if it is.....remember, its about energy in vs energy used. Eat more and youll put on pounds.

How long is it on for? I cant imagine a cast being on very long for a thumb. If its only 3-4 weeks id go and lift legs and do single arm exercises. Never do nothing.

Yea I aim to put on a bit of weight, not much, but some. As a student though I can't really afford to spend loads on food, so I'm just trying to get a healthy dose of calories in, I can't quite justify paying for excess calories yet until I get a job (which I have managed to get, but can't start until the cast comes off haha)

The doctors aren't sure yet, they still haven't been able to accurately locate the fracture through the x-ray due to the amount of swelling in my hand apparently. I have a check-up on Thursday plus an x-ray where they hope they'll get a definitive answer. Cast is probably another couple weeks at least.
I wasn't planning on doing nothing. As I'm out of playing football for a bit, it may have to be legs. Single arm exercises might be a bit difficult on my left as I literally can't grasp anything in my hand, but I'll give it a go, if nothing else I can always cardio.
