Hey Fellas, I had a mishap today on the incline bench that could have been avoided if I had only used a spotter.

Sometimes it's rough trying to find someone to workout with, I know, but even someone working at the gym will be happen to spot you if you ask. It's a lot better for them to help you, than to have someone die at their business.

It's not even an issue of lifting more than you know you can... sometimes strange things occur when you're lifting lighter weights and you might find yourself injured or worse.

I never train with barbells for chest, it's all done on the smith machine (inclines, declines, high inclines etc) for safety purposes.

Other chest exercises (db presses, flyes) can be done quite safely without a spotter.

I train at home, so I never have a spotter and this is something that i worry about. I have had several small accidents from not being able to put the bar back (i.e Torn muscles and a crushed hand) which could of easily been big ones, especially with the incline bench press when I drop the barbell back down to it's holder the bar is resting only an inch or 2 from my throat, if I was to miss and drop it on there I would surely die cause of it, which is a scary thought. But then again you could go your whole life without taking risks and it would be boring.
