Your best bet for gaining weight is to eat often, as in every several hours.

if you're looking to pack on LEAN weight, you will need an overall balanced diet that provides high levels of protein, carbs and fat. An emphasis should be placed on 'complex' starchy carbs, which are slower-burning than 'simple' carbs.

When eating grains, look for whole-wheat breads and cereals.

Don't forget those meats, as they are one of the most important sources of protein.

Some examples of foods that are often associated with bulking and compliment a balanced diet: oatmeal, pasta, potatoes, leafy green veggies, 'natural' peanut butter. There are many others, these are just some of my favourites.
Just do a google search..you will see see other good choices out there.

If your trying to gain this calculator is
useful to get your totals

divide those numbers into 6-7 meals and go with solid food first and once your full from that use a protein shake with oats to make the difference.

Don't worry about fat to much just stay away from junk.
