Hi guys i really need help here, i started in the gym in last january 2007 and my weight that time was 185 pounds (84 kg), since then i lost lots of weight and now i'm in the 154 pounds (70 kg). My height is 5.6 feet. How i lost so much fat was by doing weights + lots of cardio, 6 miles walking in the treadmill everyday. Yup, it worked i lost 1200 calories per an hour and a half treadmill training.

But after the summer i had a tendinitis in both my shoulders when doing inclined bench press with more weight than i could handle at the time, so i had to stop 4 months and i only did cardio. What is happening now is that even i lost lots of weight, my skin in ribs/abs area and only that one lost its elasticity, its flabby and saggy and looking really bad. I will start with my weights training tomorrow maybe it can help. i also do lots of abs but it doesnt help with refirming my skin

here are 2 pics from before having the tendinitis (August 2007)

as you can see my abs are showing a little and my skin isnt flabby, but now is. i'm really clueless here as what to do, i read some people saying its hard to lose that loose skin, almost impossible only with cirurgic treatments that i cant afford :(

what can i do?

Pinch the skin on the top of your hand, or better yet, from the underside of your wrist. Notice how thick it is? That's how thin skin is. Now, grab a roll of "loose skin" from your abdomen. Is it as thin as the skin from your hand? No? That's because it's fat. If you lost a ton of weight, and had loose skin, you'd look like you were wearing a sheet. People are full of sh1t about loose skin. Unless you were morbidly obese, or old, it shouldn't be a problem. People trying to lose weight "almost" get there, but then they take the easy way out by listening to doctors who are out for a quick buck, and get surgery rather than see their goals to completion.

So... do less cardio, and go all out on the lifting. Hell, add some weight. Whatever. But the bottom line is that it's fat. You lost muscle by not doing strength training for 4 months, and now your body has lost it's form.

With those weights I really doubt it is excess skin.

More than likely you still need to tone up a bit and put some beef on.
