Most people in my high school have mp3, and I don't have one. They know about the popular songs and the popular singers and stuff and I have very little knowledge about them... And I know close to 0 about fashion.

When it comes down with socializing with the popular kids I am worried that I will look foolish because of that...

Should I intentionally learn more about popular music and fashion to fit in? And if it is neccessary, how should I learn it? I am not a music person by the way...

These things will be my concern heading to the 11th grade because I do not know how to fit in with the popular kids... Advice needed!

Listen to the radio a bit more, or i'm sure you have a music tv channel, just turn it on. You can pick up stuff easier and it helps with conversation.

The cloths, just wear what the popular people are wearing and then try and make your own style out of it.

You really shouldn't need it, but it'll make your confidence go up

so good luck

Analyzeit hit it right on the head, but I just want to clarify one point.

It's okay to have a few similar points with the "popular" kids, but try and have one thing that separates you from the crowd. Make it unique, your style. Be bold, and show that you are independent, confident. If you copy the "popular" kids to the letter, you just become "Another Brick in the Wall." Whether it be your love of classic rock (as I do), or the hat you wear everyday to school (and when you don't wear it school that one day, it'll get every girl's attention, trust me, that one works).

But nevertheless, this, in combination with the master DJ moves you should have, you'll have to get a janitor to mop up all the melted hearts off the floor.

first off, dont call them "populars" because not everyone you think is popular actually is.
dont listen to what is on the radio just find good songs, at my school, hip hop is where its at. theres the kids that listen to soulja boy and the radio and they get no respect. when people are in my car, i get lots of stuff like "oh this is a good song" or "ive never heard this before this is tight"
try to listen to music from your area.
if you like a song, download the album its from, get more music knowledge that way
if your not a music person dont be someone your not

you gotta learn whats hot in fashion. just go to your mall and find some good clothes from macys or the outlets.

oh and at my school, the "populars" at least the guys are all different. they have their own styles and personalities.

im abiout to be a senior so im a "popular" so i kinda know what im talking about, weed really made me think about this stuff once haha.
