Finished cutting about 2 weeks ago and VERY happy with the results, here's the stats.

Start Date- January 5th, 2006:
Weight- 206lbs
Arms (Flexed)- 16.6"
Waist- 35"

Finish Date- March 7th, 2006:
Weight- 182lbs
Arms (Flexed)- 15.7"
Waist- 32"

For some background I'm a 19 yr. old, 5'11" natural bodybuilder. I've been training for 3 and a half years.

The cutting plan I used was similar to DIESEL's but i didnt need to go below 2100 calories, I started at about 3200 per day, and cut back about 100-150 per week. This was my second cutting cycle and I lost a lot less muscle this time! I'm almost as strong as I was when I started and despite the decrease in arm size, they actually appear bigger with my decreased BF. I'm a happy man! No exact BF measurements throughout, i just use the mirror but according to bodybuilding.com's calculations, at the start i was about 17-18% and now i'm about 12-13%. I can take some pix for ne non believers no homo.

Good luck to ne one else cutting, i found the start and end were the worst, but its definitely worth it. peace. Any questions, holla.

If you mean rep range, I just never went above 10 reps on anything. generally between 6-10. I actually didnt notice any falls in strength until the last few weeks once the carbs were down a lot. Either way i just pushed myself as hard as i could, no girl weights!

Also if it helps anyone, these supplements gave me good results when cutting:

-Whey Protein (as always)
-GLUTAMINE (I used Reflex, 5g 4 times per day)- I THINK THIS REALLY HELPED ME KEEP MY MUSCLE
-SAN Tight fat burner (Halfway through i stopped for a week then started again so as not to lose its effect)
-Flaxseed oil

Thats it, I def recommend glutamine to ne one cutting.

Good work, but you lost muscle. This is not necessary when trying to get down to 10% or over. Getting into the single digits might cost you lean mass but otherwise you don't really have to lose strength or size.

Either way, if you're happy, I'm happy :)

Yeah, of course I lost a little, but my arms are back up to 16 again after 2 weeks of non-starvation, chyea! (-;

Definitely happy! I'm not 'bulking' this time round, just gonna try to stay lean while adding muscle slowly. Not slacking on cardio this time round...ha ha. I'm happy with how i look but never satisfied!

peace

a very sensible way to go about it.

yeah, your arms might've been down because of low carbs.. remember to always take carbed measurements ;)

keep your fat under control with clean eating and cardio. think of it this way - you cut for two months.. this time round, you won't have to cut, that's an extra two months of muscle growing.

No, i didnt take any professional readings. I bought some scale to do it before i started, then read in the manual after getting home that its inaccurate for bodybuilders and athletes...handy. I just took measurements and most of all used the mirror. I'm not really one to care too much about bodyweight or %'s but I tend to use waist:arm ratio to approximate if im losing weight from the right places. i.e. mostly fat and not muscle. Ppl tend to think i weigh more then i do ne way when they look at me.

Funnily enough, after almost 9 weeks dieting some ppl (obviously v. inexperienced) thought I'd GAINED weight cuz I looked more ripped . and looked even more confused when i said i was dieting...It guess it does make u look bigger in a way cuz of the increased definition and separation.
