Fight at a party

So, I was at a Hardtec party saturday, and things were getting wild. My friend (who was drunk) stood there, and a dude started dansing wild, and he bumped into my friend. My friend told him to be more carefull, and suddenly this guy hit him in the face, so he fell on the floor. My friends girlfriend got to that guy and told him to stop it, but she allso got hit in the face by this dude. I came up and told him to stop it and to leave. He hit me too. So I asked him to go outside and fight it out there. I beat him.

What would be the most DJ-ish way to act in a situation like this, after my friend's girlfriend got smacked in the face? should I fight him, (coz talking didn't help) or should I just have ignored him?

Hope you guys can help me out with this so I can know if I did the right thing.

The right thing to do would have been to not escalate the situation at all by telling the guy to be more careful.

I would have fought him then. DJs have morals and values they always stick to. One of mine, is to never hit a women, no matter what.
But, I think he did the right thing by fighting him.
tx_xp: He did tell him to be more careful, and he got hit. There was not stopping him other than beating him. And the guy deserved. I dont always condone fighting.
But.
In this situation, I dont think there was a way around it.

no guys, i think you misunderstood. my friend got hit, and he fainted (because of the beer), and then the jerk hit my friends girl. then I faught him. You should 've seen his face when I hit him on his face and three times on the solar plexus. he couldnt breathe anymore. He deserved it. I hate men who hit women. I'm glad you guys think i did the right thing. I was a bit embarassed that I got so agressive.

the only thing that doestn look good, is that the jerk has a brother whose in jail because of murder...he has connections, and I see the guy a lot at party's. should take karate lessons or something...lol.

If his brother comes after you, make sure he understands that his brother is the one who was beating up on girls. He may or may not continue going after you. Like icallug said, you won't have to worry about his brother though.

Yeah i'm not usually somebody who will fight when it's not necessary or anything, but that dude deserved to get his ass kicked. You have to look out for your friends, or else don't expect them to look out for you

There ARE reasons to hit women. Don't be a ***** and say they are all angels incapable of harm.

But, in this situation, he had no right to hit EITHER of them, and deserved a broken head.

Oh, and I've been in a sit like that, where a girl is hitting you, grab her by the arms TIGHTr, look into her eyes, and tell her to stop, if she keeps flailin shake her, hold the eyecontact, watch your nuts, and wait till they settle down.

There are no reasons to hit women. There's causes and effects... For instance, if a woman is bashing up your car, kicking your dogs, or trying to kill you... the effect is you defending yourself or your property, but there are no reasons to hit women.
