This self-proclaimed feminist made a video series on women in video games explaining that it is dehumanizing to have the "damsel in distress" trope:

Before I watched the video, I was like, "Oh boy, she's gonna cry about her wanting to be the hero," but later into the video I saw that the damsel in distress trope helped build up the pedestal mentality that the west encourages so much.
But at the same time, I can't envision in real life a woman risking her life to save a man. There are certainly video games that try to portray this, but they usually make the man look like the bumbling idiot. (see "Lollipop Chainsaw")
Do you agree with the feminist?
P.S. I'm still watching the series as I make this thread, I don't know what conclusion she will come to.
