I watched this documentary about disappearing bees on Netflix. In part of it, they showed what the smaller beekeepers are up against.

Imported honey from China.

But not really honey but tastes like honey and comes in these big drums that look like they belong as props in a zombie movie.

It is every guy's decision. If no one buys the shyt from China, they will eventually drop it. But observe others while shopping, and what do you see? People will rather buy 3-5 servings of toxic waste cheap@ss chicken than settle for 1 organic serving for the same price. Well, we are all input-output systems to some extent. If you eat crap, you may eventually feel like it. Enjoy your meal!

The median income of a small farm, as of 2012, was negative $1,500 a year. A lot of that is because of global competition from overseas. I grow greenhouse tomatoes, the price of which is now half what it was before competition from Mexico was allowed. The other two crops that kept greenhouses in business were fall mums and Christmas poinsettias. Both of them are no longer profitable to grow.

I realize that global competition is the future of every product, but my problem is that US farmers face excessive regulation and inspection rules that overseas producers do not. If I want to call my tomatoes "organic," I have to be inspected by the government. That is unless I cross the border to Mexico and grow them there. Then I have zero inspection or regulation, as well as a lot more pesticides available to use that are not even legal in the US. It is a violation of NAFTA for the US to raise any questions about the authenticity of labeling of imported products. When it's twice as profitable to lie on the label, and there's no repercussions or even chance of getting caught, why shouldn't every food importer be lying? To do otherwise would be a poor business decision.

One of the things I've noticed about the grocery store is that there are entire aisles dedicated to foods that people would do best to avoid. There's an aisle for chips, another for soda, one for cookies, another for bread. Those are the most profitable products to sell. There's only a few cents worth of potatoes in a $3 bag of chips, and about the same few pennies of corn syrup in a $5 12-pack of soda.

There's 46 million Americans on food stamps right now, that's 19.7% of the country. And how many of them are obese? I'd guess at least a majority. But we're still giving them welfare money to buy soda pop and junk food. The only winners in this scenario are the companies that sell the junk food.

And back to Chinese food production, if you buy tilapia or freshwater prawns from China, it most likely was fed fresh manure as the main component of its diet. The Chinese are allowed to use antibiotics on fish farms. A few buckets of fresh pig sh!t would kill a lot of fish in a pond, but they throw in a handful of antibiotics with it, and the fish are able to live. Sometimes they use fresh duck or chicken sh!t if that is easier to get than pig sh!t. I would guess that with the US now buying Chinese chicken, there will be a lot more chicken sh!t going around China to use as feed on fish farms.

....and the medical field. ObamaCare or not, that is still a highly profitable field to be in. Hospitals are growing and popping up everywhere, from the big ones to the Docs in the Box Urgent Care places.

I don't see the food industry as a black helicopter conspiracy, I think they simply provide what they need to make a profit. The U.S. is transitioning to a management state, so most of the menial labor type stuff is going to be delegated to cheaper employees. Just the nature of the business.

...and the gov-edu-union-contractor-grantee-lawyer-MSM Complex generally. Unhealthy people are more easily manipulated to resent their fellow man, feel persecuted and victimized, be depressed, be unemployed, be "disabled," vote for growing government power and control to "fix" their broken lives, be involved in accidents and other mishaps that lawyers thrive on via litigation, and buy more junk they don't need from media advertisers.

Healthy people OTOH are more likely not to do those things and also more likely to grow a healthy sense of self-respect and personal accountability that leads to disdain of central authority.

All by design folks, all by design. That the broader taxpaying public doesn't realize this plain canard and stand up vocally against it is a mystery to me.

This is just scheme to needlessly put US chicken production out of business and displace US production and tax base and jobs, putting more Americans out of work and dependent on taxpayers. In return, we'll have an inferior and potentially harmful product eventually at a price the same as the formerly US produced one. This is what has happened with all the other industries with 'free trade' and outsourcing.

I've been watching this show called Supernatural on Netflix. In one season there were these guys called "Leviathan" who wanted to eat people. So they put stuff in junk food that made everybody fat and obedient, so the bad guys could more easily bring them to the slaughter house like cattle.
