dont ever be afraid of fate.

when fate blows past you, follow it with open arms and see where it takes you.
never be afraid to dance with fate, sometimes it lets you lead, sometimes it makes you follow.

everything in this life is 50 50.
the only thing for sure is that its gods will not ours on what happens and the outcome is what it is suppose to be.

fate will knock upon your doorstep some day , its ok to let it in:cheer:

How do some of you non-religious people feel about fate? That's what I'd like to know. I'm not exactly religious, I believe in SOMETHING, but I don't know what. But I do believe in fate in some situations....

i'm non religious, but I believe in fate... sorta. I think that everything that will happen has already happened. weird, huh? yeah well, i'm too tired from my workout to explain why i think that, so i'll leave it up to your imagination and explain later ;) . That's kinda like fate, right?

I believe in fate, but maybe not in the way you're thinking.

We didn't choose to be who we are, we didn't choose this life, and we didn't choose our family.

Everything we do is based on past experience, right? But since we didn't have any control over who we are, we couldn't choose what we experience, we couldn't choose to be raised the way we are. We only do what we base on past experience. If we were born in someone else's shoes, with their family and their experiences, we would end up the same as them.

If that were true, it means that predestination is true in some sense, because we don't really control our actions.

I don't know if that explanation makes sense, but I discussed/argued with someone for a long time about this and he won outright.

As for the whole thing about coincidences, or maybe luck, well, I don't believe in coincidences. There are a lot of books on on the topic. There's a lot of evidence that points toward something called the Law of Attraction, and it states that whatever you concentrate on, you will get.

Not sure if this is what you meant, but I hope it helps.

Penkitten's reply made me think of Garth Brooks... Bama boy here, sorry.

"Life's a dance, you learn as you go, sometimes you lead, sometimes you follow."

I'm not particularly religious, however I was raised by christian parents, luckily they let me think on my own. I do believe that fate exists, but I think that you also have a say in the matter. Free will, all that jazz. I do think that things happen for a reason and that in the end, everything works out. Not necessarily for the better, but I think that if you have the right mindset, things usually wind up working out for you.
