It is a common believe that by defeating Iraqi army and hanging Saddam, American army is now fighting fanatic terrorists and defending young democratic Iraq. However, Iraqi war is perhaps one of the most classified. Today we are going to talk about just one of the shocking episodes of this war, battle of Fallujah, it is also called Iraqi Stalingrad.

Al Fallujah located 50 km west of Baghdad also called city of masques because there was over 200 of them in the city. A city with 1,000 year old history was practically erased from the face of the earth after the battle with American army. In 2004 city experienced two of the most brutal battles of the entire Iraqi war. Specialists call these battles Stalingrad for American soldiers. Several battalions of US Marines under the cover of tanks and air force twice tried to storm the city and twice failed against ill-armed Iraqi partisans. In order to finally take the city American high command had to reserve to the use of banned chemical weapons.

April 2003, unarmed civilians of Fallujah take to the streets with protests. They are against American army's invasion of Iraq and they demand 82nd paratrooper division leave their city. In return Americans open fire on unarmed civilians, they practically point blank shoot men, women, and children, as a result several hundred die. After murder of peaceful protesters city of Fallujah becomes center of anti-American resistance. Partisans from all over the country gather in Fallujah.

31st March 2004, right in the center of city partisans ambush armored troop carrier. Vehicle blows up on IED, all inside die. Burned corpses Iraqi partisans hang from the bridge, filming it all on tape. In a few days Americans will see their video on television. Iraqi saying in video "Fallujah, grave for Americans." 3 days after this gruesome act American high command gives order to storm the city. American Marines begin special operation under code name Vigilant Resolve. To take the city under full control, 6,000 men army is given exactly one week. US high command believes that's enough time. Nobody suspected Fallujah is being defended by 20,000 partisans and civilians. Fought everyone who could hold arms.

4th April 2004, US Marines begin storming Fallujah. Their objective, come in from different directions, and moving towards center clear streets. But already in suburbs, American soldiers encounter heavy fighting. Later it would become clear, every house citizens of Fallujah made into fortress, creating fire points and bunkers, and on every roof they placed machine gun nests. American speaking "they were well organized, they had good weapons, and most importantly good tactics, they knew what they were doing."

9th April 2004, storm of Fallujah already taken 4 days, and Americans haven't even taken control of 1/3 of the city, partisans pursue American columns, meeting them everywhere with heavy fire. Then high command sends air force in support of ground troops. During day F-16s drop 200 kg bombs, at night AC-130 fires from 100 mm cannon at populated city blocks, hospitals, houses. But even after this Americans are unable to fully clear the city. Then US high command goes to a compromise, and 28 April 2004 signs ceasefire agreement with one of the elders of Fallujah. "They practically left the city without solving any of the military nor political objectives, leaving the city in ruins, they practically left the weapons to partisans, and the whole situation calmed down for several months."

September 2004, after failed battle of Fallujah, American military begin clearing so called Sunni Triangle - it is an area between city of Samarra on the north, Ramadi on the west, and Fallujah in the east. It is known this area has the biggest concentration of Iraqi partisans. Close to start of October, city of Samarra is already under American control. After another two weeks, American storm and take city of Ramadi. Early morning 8th November 2004, American military begins storm of the last un-capitulated city, Fallujah. This time, in operation code named Phantom Fury, will be used most powerful weapons and 25,000 American soldiers. Only 4,000 Iraqi partisans will be defending Fallujah. This is almost unbelievable, but in all 4 directions partisans are able to halt American advance. In just 3 days of heavy fighting they will destroy - think carefully about this number - 11 tanks Abrams, considered the most reliable in the world, 2 F-16 fighter planes, 11 fighter helicopters, 5 UAV surveillance drones, 1 transport helicopter, and 22 military vehicles. Understanding that military operation will most likely fail, command gives orders to begin carpet bombing.

Speaking Igor Hahlov "around Fallujah was concentrated great amount of weapons, and Fallujah was bombed intensely from air, ground artillery and rockets. Meaning, Americans were working by quadrants, targeting not specific fighters, because it was simply impossible to locate them among masses of civilians, but destroying vast areas using carpet bombing.

This footage was filmed 18th November 2004, this is how looked Fallujah day after massive carpet bombing. City was erased from the face of the Earth. Destroyed buildings, masques, electric and water communications. On the streets are mutilated bodies. So many dead that it is simply impossible to remove them all from the streets. Among dead elderly, women, and children. But it is not all, on this footage it is shown clearly, all victims have same exact burns, these burns are chemical and can be caused only by strong poison called white phosphorous. Coming into contact with air, white phosphorous burns anything live in radius of 1 km. This weapon is prohibited under UN resolution, but they never signed this resolution in United States.

Just in this battle Americans lost almost 1,500 soldiers, civilian dead is impossible to establish, it is several thousand. And more, today in city of Fallujah dictors prohibit women to give birth, because of risk giving birth to babies with birth defects. This is the price for you of small victorious war in far away enigmatic country.

Fallujah was arguably the hottest action of the Iraq War.

I've no doubt both sides represented in that conflict were and still are engaged in vigorous propaganda campaigns.

Deep down, I have an issue with a government sending its military half way around the world, occupying a city and killing any locals who resist.

I also think everyone deserves the consequences of their actions. Be it the soldier on the ground, or the apathetic citizen who said nothing while his elected representative voted to authorize the actions of the soldier on the ground.

Ever since American people took a bike of Bushrombama turd they lost their freedom of speech, and right to bear arms. In other words, you've become just like the citizens of Fallujah - you say something wrong you'll be fired upon, and you won't have guns to defend yourself.

They say, what goes around comes around.

Fallujah, my fellow readers, is the hood. It is your hood.
