Having lots of photos of you in social interactions and outings with friends, and being different than the rest of the losers online.

Once you get that right, you can message chicks with anything, though it helps to read their profiles first (Which a lot of guys don't do) and comment on something you read:

Eg. "Oh my gawwwd! You enjoy dancing in your underwear too? Wow, we must be soulmates!"

Sort, simple, gets a laugh. Don't show too much interest early on, which was something you did.
