Eye Contact-when to break?

I know they say that you shouldnt break eye contact with a girl but at some point doesnt just staring at eye become kind of creepy? I was in the mall an hour ago and was walking toward some girl and we both gave eachother a bit of eye contact and then i felt weird and looked away.

YEah, that's what happens to me too... When I make eye contact with people I always think I'm giving a CREEPY look, probably it's true too!!!!!! I hate to look away, but if I don't, I feel like I'm in a competition or something, it doesn't feel natural. Like the other person is thinking "This guy is giving me a VERY suspicious look, he must have some kind of a controllive personality, what a CREEP, i'll gossip to my friends later about this, he's so wierd, I know for sure i'm not looking away, competition is ON, somethings wrong with that look he's giving me". Any advices? I read I need to smile when I give eye contact, but that doesn't seem something normal to do. I'm gonna keep making eye contact and NOT looking away in the future tho. I think it's going to become more natural with time... am i right?

Yeah, it gets easier the more you do it. Breaking eye contact and looking away is a sign of nervousness, like when you guys are worried you look creepy, you are nervous.

and yes, smiling is a good thing. I personally like a ****y smirk, but thats just me.

You have to smile because if you just stare, you become just like every other guy who just wants some eye candy.

If you smile, she'll probably smile back, you're communicating all the right stuff just by smiling, then you can take it to the next level by opening her. It's so much easier to open a girl who smiles back at you.

If she doesn't smile back, you can still open her, she just needs to get to know you better...and by this I mean you've gotta show some cold shoulder once you finally have her attention.

Smile = friendly girl who is open to meeting you
No smile (with EC) = girl with a social persona that needs to be removed

You don't need eye contact or a smile to open. Just start talking.

Guys who think they need eye contact first before they meet a girl are over-thinking the process.
