Exercise and Depression....it works!!

This is probably known to all of you, but it is scientifically proven to work.

If any of you get depressed from time to time or have history of it, please exercise rigorously atleast 4 times a week.

I think the exercise needs to be somewhat rigorous, a slow jog or walking does not cut it. You need to lift weights, do some hardcore running or pushups.

I was down in the dumps all day today until I decided to go to my old high school and run the bleechers. This is an intense workout that really makes your legs go numb, as well as make you very winded.

However, after doing this on and off for 1/2 hour, my mood went from down in the dumps to MODERATELY HAPPY! It is amazing..............

For me, it only lasts as long as the workout and then about 10 minute after. Then I start feeling like **** again.

another widely recommended regimen around here that potentially helps with depression is getting your EFAs from fish oil.

a fast walk / hike up hills can be just as intense as anything else, and produce the same high.
