I have a natural ectomorphic build. Not extreme, but noticeably so. I have a muscular bod and a ripped but pretty slender and 'long' musculature. So naturally, I'm having trouble getting my arms more massive. I'm not shooting for some retarded Ronnie Coleman crap (that is fvcking nasty), but just a little heft. I'm shooting for Brad Pitt-plus 15 pounds, basically. I would be very happy with that, and am not interested in getting any bigger. In my opinion if I had bigger upper arms and forearms, I would have a bomb ass upper body.

But alas, all the dips, overhead triceps extentions, bicpe curls (barbell, dumbell) I do just get me more CUT, but not more massive. :( What am I doing wrong?

Note, I have a strong feeling that it is my diet... I probably take in about 2000 calories a day, sometimes less. But them again I'm not a big man at 5'9" 160 pounds or so. Is it my diet? Or am I plateau-ing in my progress and basically overworking myself?

Thank you in advance, guys.

Yipe..... I just decided to go over Diesel's Bulking guide for the hell of it, and the FIRST thing on it was his tirade about how newbs ask 'how to bulk 'X bodypart' and blah blah.... LOL! :p

My bad. But some more advice wouldn't hurt.

Dude the reason you lean and cut is that your body is using up all the fat because 2000 calories is nothing. Your actually trying to get bigger arms but your body thinks your dieting so you aren't making any progress. Try starting on at least 2500-3000 calories a day and make sure that 160 grams of protein is consumed per day.

If I were you I would stick to the dumbells as they are the best for working the arms. For the forearms I have this thing called a dynaflex powerball, basically a gyroscope. It generates up to 30 lbs of force and gives your forearms quite a workout when trying to keep it still.

EAT!

I'm a bit bigger than you at 5'10" 180, but I eat almost twice as much. I eat approx. 3000 calories/day for cutting and 3500-4000 when I'm bulking. Basically just eat as much as you can, if you start getting a gut then you know to eat less.
