Women thrive on receiving reactions to their behavior, whether it be good or bad. We know that.

My wife has been in a less than good mood lately and frankly, it had been p!ssin me off for the last couple days.

She went off to work yesterday. At about noon, I get a text that says "I havent been in the best mood, but know that I love you." She was clearly attempting to solicit a response. Did I respond?

No.

She got home and asked me if I received her text. I told yer "yep" and left it at that. Kinda put her back on her heels by not saying anything further. Went to bed later and pinned her ears back all but good. I think I saw her footprints on the ceiling above the bed when I turned the light on this AM.

THINK before you repond to a text, take a call, return a call or answer an email.

Sometimes the best option is to say nothing at all.

Even married guys need a little game from time to time. :D

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

Truthitude. I often find myself "thinking" but it's in the sense of trying to put together the perfect response as opposed to thinking about what is the best action to take given the situation - which in most cases is the action of no response.

This is always a lesson learned after I hit send and then go back and re-read the text later on which leads to an instant face palm.

Very true. In fact, if you ever find yourself in a position where "negative momentum" is created (e.g. she cancels a date, gives a snippy response, etc.), your best move is not to respond. All attention is positive attention in game- don't reward her for stuff you shouldn't.

Instead of a Field Report, we have a Home Report. :D

I have a personal rule that I always respond to TXT either less frequently or with fewer words, or both, than the woman.

THis actually happened -
A few years ago I was dating a nutjob with the hottest body.
I invited her to a big deal dance party event on a Saturday by text exchange at midday -

My AFC text - "The dance starts at 8pm. You gonna look gorgeous?"
Her snotty reply, " Your text is an implied demand. I won't be coming ." (And she meant it )

OK, I admit I did reply to her snot with another "smoother" and she calmed down.
Later that evening she showed up at the dance half smashed and acted like a b!tch all night .

I know now what I should have done .
When I received her text reply at the time I figured that I needed to "nice" my way though her crAp mood - that did not work she got worse.

Live and learn, eh ?

Good question, Scara. Not sure of the answer.
