One strange thing I'm seeing for the first time in the states is circles of guys dancing enthusiastically amongst themselves in a circle.

I'm also seeing pairs of guys dancing together. These are not gay guys either. Well clearly some of them are. But some are not.

But I'm seeing pairs and groups of guys dancing together, enthusiastically, with no attempt to dance with women. It used to be that dancing with guys was something you wouldn't think of doing, because, gay. Now, it's becoming a regular thing.

It used to be that (yeah I've just parsed this together and I'm talking out of my a ss to a degree but it's probably still accurate in part):

1. guys who had given up on dating in the 50's/60s were the rare fat guys

2. in the 70s/80's teens started to get hooked on drugs and started or continued to get fatter

3 in the 90's/00's you have teens/young men hooked on drugs, tv, computers and getting even fatter still

4. in the 2010/20s teens/young men are even giving up talking to women even when they go out.

I was confused at first. I thought it was a fluke thing. Like a funny lark they'd engage in and stop after 5 seconds. Then it was a minute. Then, I'd see the same group of guys dancing together for an hour! The entire time I was there! I go to another bar the next night and same thing, only different group of guys! WTF?!?

And you'll see groups of girls doing the same thing, they're not being approached. Well, since they blew out all the circle jerk guys, it's no surprise.

Simple...Xenoestrogens, pesticides and plastics that are all over the place and are estrogenic in nature. Since estrogen is the hormonal marker in the body, and since the body only expects high estrogen levels in men as the result of aromatization from Testosterone into Estradiol, it thinks that the body is producing too much testosterone so it produces extra SHGB to bind to the testosterone rendering it inactive, producing a double edged sword...lower circulating testosterone levels and higher levels of SHBG to bind to it lowering free testosterone further. This then becomes a negative feedback loop that perpetuates itself.

A lot of the time it's because these guys are passive and they think by sitting around dancing that a girl will come over and show interest. That actually happens a fair amount.

But I also blame outrage culture and the witch hunting of guys that make any kind of reasonable pass at a woman on a night out. While a lot of the MeToo backlash is justified (there are definitely exploiters, assaulters and creeps out there), it's escalated to the extent that normal men are getting scared of hitting on women in a tasteful and respectful manner.

Women can't have their cake and eat it. If they want men to approach, they can't blame men for approaching as long as they're being respectful. If they don't want men to approach, they need to start doing it themselves.

(There's also the ridiculous double standard in that if Chad approaches a woman that's seen as sexy behaviour and totally cool, but if Ugly Rick approaches a woman in the exact same way he's being a lecherous sexist creep).

I agree with this right here. With the advent of cheap high speed internet, unlimited selection of whatever genre porn you want - the drive for the real thing is not as necessary. Don’t have to force yourself to get turned down so much when you’re conditioned to your resort for getting sex (online porn).

Video games too, people adapt themselves to the evermore immersive worlds where they can *be* someone else, somewhere else. They don’t have to think about reality when they can live in this virtual paradise. Even if it’s non-sensical or hard labour within the game too. Look at the people addicted to world of warcraft and second life. If you look online, there’s people that have entirely detached from there real world, literally believing themselves a persona of themselves online first and foremost.

Expect it to get worse, as ‘innovations’ allow further engrossment into both. I’ll fully bet people will literally die in full scale virtual reality machines. 1. Plenty of guys do enjoy music and dancing, but they know that MOST women at the bar/club would NOT dance with them. So sadly, like the OP notes, they have resorted to dancing with each other.

2. They might subscribe the questionable* theory that you attract women by having fun. They might actually believe that women will join them.

*You SHOULD always have fun. Why not? That’s not the point though. If she’s not attracted to you, she doesn’t care how much fun you are having with your buddies/mates. Laugh, joke, drink and dance all you want; it won’t turn you into Chad.

Something else I saw a few weeks back. A guy was approaching a girl. This was a bigger guy, buffed out, I thought he was going to be a macho, very assertive type.

Instead, he had this meek smile, bent over and bowed to the girl, and get this, the guy put his hands together in prayer, BEGGING the girl to allow him to talk to her!

I am not joking. This guy prostrated himself for just a few seconds of the girls' time!

I'm not making this up. But I was in a bit of disbelief when I saw that.

One other odd thing I've seen in the past couple of years, and I hesitate to write about this, but I've seen straight guys grinding on each other. It was only briefly, they were laughing, it wasn't serious. It was clearly a lark, a prank, but still, I don't think anyone would've thought to do that, even as a prank, maybe even as recently as 5 years ago.

I don't want to go all 'when I was a young lad...' on you guys but seriously though how many young guys can drive a stick shift, play sports, rebuild an engine, build a piece of furniture these days? Add to that, a large percentage of guys who are "approaching" are actually buying the girls drinks. So, it's not a real approach, but more of a bribe.

It's affecting my ability to approach as well, since now girls expect every guy to buy them a drink.

These girls are expecting you to prostrate yourself to them at every turn. They won't even get behind you in line for the bathroom.

There's this bar I've been to out of town. It has some smokin' hot coeds there. Even when it's not great there will always be a few groups of really cute and THIN college chicks running around.

HOWEVER, it is also informally a gay and tranny bar (or at least has that clientele). You'll literally see 55 year old trannies with beards and full lingerie. Usually, they stay out of the way so they are easy to ignore.

But again, for the first time, I saw a tranny who could actually pass as a female.....
