This new (and awesome looking) game called Kingdom Come: Deliverance just came out.
It's set in medieval Bohemia. You are a peasant named Henry whose town gets ransacked by a nobleman and his family is murdered. The sack of that town actually happened, so it's based off a real event and the story follows Henry as he tries to get his revenge.
Anyway even though it's an RPG, it's a pretty realistic medieval life sim. You're crap at fighting unless you practice it a lot and you have to just work peasant jobs until you slowly rank up through society.
I was just reading a review from The Guardian in which they're moaning that the game doesn't "highlight the plight of women in a Patriarchy enough" and Henry (the main character) "is never impeded by his low social class."
First, it just seems wholly ridiculous they're shoehorning modern politics into a videogame set in the f***ing MIDDLE AGES. Are you even kidding me?
Would we want a game where you just shovel pig s*** for 10,000 hours and then starve to death?
Secondly, it's not even true! I've already seen a gameplay video showing a woman being r*ped by scumbag soldiers while the main character is helpless.
And Henry is constantly s*** on by a noble lord who is a complete douche but has everything he wants merely because he's rich. The game even represents that side of it faithfully, and STILL some SJW is complaining that it's not political enough.
Honestly, I've had it with this constant politicisation of everything in the media.
