I see that Europe is starting to get colder now. Is the energy crisis real or just an over exaggerated point to get views on a headline?
It's bad in the UK... I mean we are spending way way more on gas electric then we ever did before, and shvit is about to get worse next year with the price of energy increasing again.I see that Europe is starting to get colder now. Where the heck are you in Europe that you write in perfect Americanized English? "Bucks" extra you say? It's bad. There are propositions to subsidize the bill for the consumer to stop a major economical crash. They just fear people will abuse the system. Its like a " all energy you can spill " buffet.
Ironically, or should I say cynically
enough the warming up of the planet means the winter is less severe than usual. So ,no white Christmas, no ice skating ect.
The real effect of the crisis will show up soon. Most people will pay a indication of what they assume they'll use, based on their previous years. You can choose to pay 100 bucks a month, but if your bill was 110 you'll have to pay 10 x 12= 120 bucks extra. A real headache now is what people should be paying next year(2023).
But yeah, falling a sleep and forgetting to switch off your heater at night is like throwing away a complete freshly made fast food menu or something like that.
It may be ending soon. The war is no longer "the current thing" in the US, and the twitter files may be the final sledgehammer to the head of the corrupt establishment.meh guess people need to play more strategy games, in civilization for example one thing you don't is you not having a iron source and your enemy having then, that set you back so hard, with in real life we bring the whole we need resources, so lets not depend on only one source.
but doing so that also would mean more peopel would enter the war against russia, a right europe depends on US army for serious things....
Kinda of topic but thanks alot. I geuss I listened to WAY too much hiphop. I am also a musician/songwriter and made tons of song lyrics in English, maybe that also helps a little. Funny story; I used to work in a store when I was a teenager. A tourist from the States started talking to me and asked if I ever lived in New York. Biggest compliment EVER haha.Where the heck are you in Europe that you write in perfect Americanized English? "Bucks" extra you say?
Well fwiw Europe used to be more like the US until the many of more aggressive men moved here or got killed off in world wars. You still didn't answer the question though....so I'm guessing Luxembourg or Liechtenstein, yes?Kinda of topic but thanks alot. I geuss I listened to WAY too much hiphop. In Europe we are heavily influenced by American (pop) culture. Movies ,music, fashion, influencers (before internet ), all USA. When I was younger 99% of the music on the radio was English. Same with movies and shows . We quote English sayings and lines from movies and songs amongst each other all the time. The American dream is , or was also the European dream.
I think the internet exposed how much differences there really are between the two continents . I guess a lot of Europeans are somewhat disappointed to learn how USA operates and functions, hence the many comments and questions y'all get from us. We still dumbfounded the States isn't like Denmark or Austria lol. Lately there are strong movements in patriotic culture though, as there are more native spoken movies, shows, pop artists ect. Somehow it seems the USA doesn't produce the larger than life world wide big celebrities anymore. The next MIchael Jackson, Bradd Pitt, or Tupac. I think the next generations will have less affinity with the USA.
In most of the big cities in Europe you can speak English like in the states, and you'll never have to speak the native language. In smaller towns it might be different, but even than people will understand and speak basic English. I live in a small town now and here people have trouble speaking fluent English.
This forum tho, this takes me to the next level. Communicating and actually writing with natives English speakers is the best way to learn it. I often have to use translate when y'all use words or phrases, and if I read back some of my post I can tell I translated native language to direct.
Back to the topic.
