Recently I've been thinking about giving my 'stlye' an overhaul(new hairstyle, new clothes, etc etc)

I do have a question that's been bugging me for a long long long long long time about this though.

How long would you say you spend each morning on your appearance?

Like, are you one of the guys who jumps in and out of the shower, wash the hair, shave, throw some clothes on, and jets? (this is like me)

Do you spend abit longer and style your hair, and plan out what you're going to wear that day?

Or, do you spend awhile each morning making yourself look 'just right', wink at yourself, kiss the mirror, and leave the joint.

I guess you can say I wasn't your run-of-the-mill kid growing up, and never developed a sense of style or fashion. No one talks about it, atleast infront of me, so I have nooooo idea how long people spend each day to "look good"? I'm not criticizing or anything, I just want to know what the standard time committment is each day to look good.

I appreciate any solid responses and advice,

peace

There is good hygiene which if you are a DJ, that is ofcourse a must have. So yea wash your hair, shave and whatever. As long as you're clean thats fine.

There is style, this is the part that takes awhile to get acustomed to. You have to find your own style and it takes alot of posing and getting ready in the morning so yea it takes longer then usual if you wanna look good.

As for me, I have developed my style so I don't spend that much time getting ready, I already know what I look good in. I would say i spend 10 min getting ready to go out with guy friends and about 20-30 min for a date or sarging.

depends on where im going...if just to class i just gel my hair very quick (doesnt have to be perfect) and throw on some jeans and a tshirt.

if im going somewhere to really try and get girls attention(club/bar/party) i spend a lot more time making sure almost everything is taken care of ie.nose hairs, eyebrows, pubes...it may sound kinda metro, but at these places, girls might start getting really close to you/face and get a good look at your s hit, so i make sure everything is straight

oh yea, i trim my pubes before anytime theres a high chance of a girl doing her thing down there!

Buy a nice wardrobe. Chicks can tell the difference between a $20 polo and a $75 shirt - b/c it is made from better fabric and women can spot all the intricate details of a good piece of clothing. This will show her you take pride in your appearance. Nordstrom is a good place to start.

Moved to AE.

By the way, I used to be a slave to wearing just the right thing. I'd use complementary colors with polos, wovens, and tshirts, and when wearing jeans I'd be sure to have a belt that included the colors of my shirts. Yeah, I know. Since dating the same person for ~3 years I've relaxed my style a lot. I still care about my appearance, but I won't always shave before class/work, and sometimes I'll go out in just a t-shirt.

Men frequently err by talking too much. They often monopolize conversations, droning on and on about topics that bore women to tears. They think they're impressing the women when, in reality, they're depressing the women.

The more you are in tune with your own style, the more effortless it is and the less time it takes. I used to spend a long time figuring out what to wear before I started the day, and it showed. As I got more accustomed to looking awesome, it became quicker and quicker each day. One of my personal stylistic quirks, which actually grew out of not wanting to do laundry, is never wearing matching socks. For instance, if I'm wearing grey pants with a baby blue pinstripe, and a red top, I'll wear a red sock and a baby blue sock. People seem to love this.

Like other people have said, having a wardrobe full of stylish clothes makes things a lot easier. You can make an awesome outfit out of almost anything if you have the balls to wear it and an eye for detail, but this takes time and for now you're better off shopping for cool things to fill your closet with.

There's also a difference between looking stylish and looking uniquely good, but I'm not sure you care. For most people looking stylish is enough and certainly won't hold you back anywhere in life.
