Well I'm a scrawny guy and due to a problem I have with my back I can't go to the gym for about the next 5-6 months.

Right now (because i was working out before) I have a little definition and quite no fat as i'm very scrawny (5'7'' and 132 pounds).

My aim (according to my height) is to get my body about like Tom Cruise's) and I want to be about 172 pounds.

My question is for those months I can't train with weights should I start eating about 3000 calories a day in order to gain weight? Will I get bigger? I'll probably as well start doing some pushups.. Should I concider to add to those callories a whey protein?

You are gonna get fat like a pig if you don't lift seriously.
Talk to a personal trainer, explain to him your condition and he'll tell you which exercises you can go heavy on and which you should have more care.
Push ups do ****.

I don't think I owe you a response but I just translated it from my desired kgs into pounds.
