I feel quite tired alot of the time these days and i dont have any idea why

i get 8 hours sleep every day plus .5hr snooze and i eat plenty

i dunno, maybe i have Thallasaemia minor

anyway, question is

do you guys eat before working out, to get the blood sugars going? i dont mean immdiately

what i do is eat, and then go gym 1.5 hours after i finihsed my last swallow. it used to be 2 hours to let it digest, but that was too long and i got too fatigued and cbf 'ed. so i cut it to 1.5 but i'm still tired before going

maybe i should make it 1hr 15 minutes, i drink creatine + powerrade before going , helps slightly,

i just eat whatever, sandwich 480cals, or rice plate plus oily meat 600cals, or whatever

what do you guys suggest?

It could be overtraining.

That would make you run down even if you are seemingly doing everything right.

hahahahahahaha, its definately NOT overtraining

because of this problem i'm really unmotivated and really tired all day, so i go gym once, twice if i'm lucky, for 50 minutes, because at the end i'm so buggered, i can barely do another rep of anything

i do high weight low rep stuff, 3 difference exercises for a muscle group 4sets x 6, max weight.

so for chest i do 12 all up, somehting smaller like bi's i do 9 all up 3x3x6

Hmmm well if you really think its a nutrition thing send a PM to throttle as he's an expert on blood sugar/insulin spikes and all that good energy related business of the body.

Also by any chance do you Australians go through winter like we do in the states?

I ask because during this time of year at least for us people drowned in snow some of us in this snowy climate get seasonal affective disorder which I guess is a kind of depression that lasts throughout the winter and brings with it a lack of energy.

You take vitamins?

Eating complex carb meal did the trick for me when I hit the "fatigued at workout" phase. I understand what you are going through. After the first set, you want to just lay down and go to sleep. And I bet it's not even that you lack motivation, right? Complex carbs are slow-digesting carbs so you can eat them couple of hours before workout. Remember, you have always to take into factor your metabolism. You don't want to be trying to hold your crap in while you are trying to bust out that last bench set.

I recommend eating a meal high in protein one hour before working out.

As for feeling tired, try using weights every second day and cardio every other day. It's normal to feel tired, that's the whole point ;).

Some kind of complex carb meal 30 minutes before.

Try this. A cup of brown rice or a baked potato, and hopefully you have a whey shake before so add close to a 1/2 cup of quick oats to that. That should be plenty of carbs for energy. This is what i do.
