Master Don Juan
I was in the EDR at the MGM today with some of the lifeguards from the pool (who the hell goes to the pool in december?!) and we were analyzing what was on each others plates and talking about the progress we were making with our work outs. It's actually really easy to stay in good shape if you want to at the MGM because somewhere along the line some one slipped a report across the general managers desk showing the correlation between a positve diet and less sick days for employees...and how much money they would be losing if they didn't switch over to health foods.
Anyway the guys were eating meats (two kinds of chicken, beef,) rice (they work out after work) and a small bowl of fruit. They'd lost some weight since last I saw them after I transfered about a month ago. They eat pretty much the same thing every day, day in and day out. My meal consist of meats (fish of the day, and dry tuna and chicken) about a quarter plate of a random vegetable dish and a quarter plate steamed broccoli/coliflower and a small serving of a random non fried starch. That's pretty much what I eat every day.
Since we don't get charged for this food we eat it three times a day. They work out conciderably more then I do yet I'm far more cut then either of them and equally as strong. We're about the same height/weight but for some reason they REFUSE to eat vegetables, which is really the difference maker. Vegetables have both soluble and insoluible fiber which are both very important for your body. Insoluble fiber clings to water and decreases the time in which harmful substances stay in the colon. Soluble fiber mixes with water and creates a substance that binds to cholesterol and prevents it from being reabsorbed back into the body. It also aids in the regulation of sugars in the body. In additon vegetable help prevent some forms of cancer (broccoli consumption has been linked to a reduction in the chances of TESTICULAR cancer). They also have essential vitamans that many people find in mulit vitamans. The best benefit is that vegetables are one of the best ways to maintain or attain a weight that's you're comfortable with or looking for.
