Drinkers... Remember to have some water

Ugh I just want to say to all you serious drinkers out there, remeber to have a few glasses of water before you go to bed. I forgot to do this last night, and when I woke up at noon today my stomach felt horrible. Now there's nothing I can do but ride it out. Trying to rehydrate but it's a slow process cause the damage is already done

A few glasses of water really makes all the difference the next day. After you have one sip of alcohol your body will want to expell all the water from your body. So after you're done drinking for the night, it makes sense to try to get at least a quart back into your body.

that is such good advice..

i normally have pre drinks at a mates house. his mum plays tennis. she takes these vitamin tablets called "peak performance" one night when i wasn't feeling so great he's like "have some peak performance, u'll feel great" he was being stupid, but i had some. no hangover. i had some another time, no hangover.. then i worked it out.. everytime i have them... no hangover!

moral of the story :) take some vitamins.

Yeah another reason to take vitamins when drinking is because of the diuretic effect of alcohol, and you need to replace the vitamins that are lost. Water is very important too, It feels like sh1t being dehydrated.

There's nothing worse then waking up hungover and dehydrated. I always try to drink water before I pass out, but some times passing out takes priority. :(

see that's what happened to me last night,:( never a good thing. Sometimes when i'm REALLY wasted and I'm thinking about drinking something before I go to sleep I'll mix half a capsule of this stuff called "Zip Fizz" in a glas of water. It has lots of vitamins and antioxidents in it but it also kinda gets you amped. So I don't take a full dosage.

You guys should try it, it's sold at most costco's and if not you can definatly find it online.

keep a bottle of vodka next to your bed like Yeltsin did, have a shot or 5 in the morning, and your hangover will be gone.

No you pass out because you have more alcohol in your body then you can handle. Thus your body essentially shuts off.

This is correct. Your body wants you to rest because it wants to do some work on itself and your activies aren't helping that process. It needs to do damage control after you, for lack of better words, poisoned yourself.

Drining 1 to 1 reduces your drinking because you can't physically drink as much alcohol, but what it boils down to is if you're still consuming alcohol, your body will still keep putting the water out of your system, which dehydrates you. Thats why you have a few glasses of water after you get drinkin before you go to sleep because that water will work its way through your system while your body is at rest.

sorry bro..
don't mean to cut u down..
but i'd never take alcohol facts or tips from a 16 year old..
when i was 16, i thought, yeah i've got drunk, i know all there is about alcohol..

you're just starting to explore a very beautiful world my friend. alcohol is great. and there is no secret formula to avoid a hangover.. (vitamins + water DO help)

the best advice, have such a good night that the hangover is a reminder of fun, instead of the result of a bad and expensive night out.

I can vouch for this. Even on the worst nights of drinking I wake up hangover free if I pound the water before going to sleep.

BTW... drinking until you "pass out" is actually the onset of alcohol poisoning. This is the body's natural reaction to it: if you're not concious then you can't drink anymore. Not something I reccomend.

Past blacking out, there is vomiting and in extreme cases your brain functions will become irregular or even cease to be (heart beat, breathing, etc).
