What I call "home" is a county in Oklahoma with the highest concentration of meth users/dealers/cooks in the entire state.
More times that I would like to, I've seen the effects that crystal meth has on people.
A friend of mine back in high school, a preacher's son at that, got hooked on it. He dropped off the face of the earth, was fired from his job, got his house foreclosed and his car repo'ed, and was actually arrested while robbing a house for items he could sell to buy more meth.
I saw him a couple of years ago. He looked 10 years older than me.
Several months after seeing my friend from high school, I came home from work to find my roommate "trying" meth in the kitchen. I knocked him out of his chair so hard, he went all the way across the kitchen.
I told him that should I ever catch him doing meth, he's going to need stitches.
He was scared to death of me from that day forward, but guess what? He just did meth everywhere but in the house. One month later, I kicked him out. He wasn't able to pay rent because he'd blown all his money on meth.
Luckily, getting kicked out was a turning point for him. He moved to Utah, cleaned up his act, and now he's got a good job and a girlfriend (1yr+ time on both)
I've got more experiences I could share, but the point is; Don't try to BS me and tell me that crystal meth isn't the root of the problem with crystal meth addicts. I've never had a roommate skip rent because he blew it all on beer and/or marijuana.
