Exercise helps, but alot of people overdo their training and this definately lowers your immunity.

I'd look at your diet and also your general outlook, worrying about stuff all the time is probably the worst thing for lowering your immune system response.

Working out helps the immune system tremendously, boost your energy levels and your confidence not to mention..
But equally important to working out is nutrition, the expression "you are what you eat" is true. I have been working out for about 4 years myself and I will literally feel like crap if I have been eating like crap all day.

Working out makes your body stronger inside and out. What happens during the workout process is that you're placing stress on your body (ie: lifting heavy weights) then allowing your body to recover. Consequently, your body becomes stronger.

NEVER attempt to put your body through a workout while you are sick. Recovery time is EVERYTHING when youre working out. And if your body is under enough stress during an illness, then working out will aggravate the problem.
