I found some nlp tools to be helpful such as echoing someone's words back at them and i think most nlps techniques might work but it's just a hell of work. I mean you are having a conversation with someone but at the same time in your mind you are thinking about that guy's motivation, values, kinesthetic auditory visual mode etc which are not easy to do so i have never tried most of these techniques. I don't even think i can consciously mirror someone because after a few minutes of doing it, i go back to being normal and forget about it. it's the same with lie detection stuffs i mean we are not used to focusing people's micro expression while talking to them so it will just slip up or we will feel like it's hard so we won't want to do it anymore

In my opinion NLP is mostly nonsense, but it benefits from the ol' "broken clock is right twice a day." Mirroring and active listening (which is basically paraphrasing what people say back to them) are useful persuasion techniques, but they aren't unique to NLP so I wouldn't bother diving deep into it.
