I just got a membership to my gym and I am just curious as to how many of you actually gained weight from there. Just answer the poll if your goal was to bulk up and not cut up.

YEAH MAN!!!

I signed up at the gym and after one year I gained 30 pounds of fat, yup, I didn't step into the gym ONE TIME:D:D:D

Nah, seriously, why ask? Your going to get no gain from people who don't try, and it will only discourage you...

I know that it is a stupid question. Becasue why would people work out if the won't get bigger. However, yesterday I was looking at sites that tell you what to eat and how to work out in order to get big. Anyways, I came acroos a site that said that people only get big becasue of genetics and steroids and working out doesn't really help. I was curious as to how many people work out consistently and get no results.

Thank you guys for voting

Yeah, don't focus on the negative...

memorize that, seems ike it's still a problem if your finding a site that blames genetics on the lack of progress. I dunno, like a sect of a social darwinistic society that teaches you to be AFC so 'bad' genes don't start to look good.

Most of what your body does and reaches in the gym is trained through childhood. There are some instances where truly bad genes cause problems, but only in rare cases.

If you gained weight because you cheat on your diet, slack in the gym, and reduce any and all movements(including fidgetting in your chair) thoughout the day, and blame genetics... than it's not the genetics, but that's all some of those sites can see because they are being paranoid and creating negative 'brain something' loops that make them look for everything negative to confirm their initial judgement.

Go to a gym, and watch people's exercises. If they aren't training to gain, than they generally won't gain. If they push their muscles to constant exhaustion(cardio and more cardio) than they will lose weight(duh). If people strain their muscles, and let the muscles heal, than they grow.

Your not going to get straight, informed and truthful advice from people who don't gain. You find me a person who has been training for a year and hasn't improved, and I'll show you somebody who doesn't follow the advice that he is given.

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

thats what happened to me. I went from 160 down to 155, and now I'm up to 170. I will also say that I have bursts of good workout and bad workout habits, so I could be at like 180.

moral? you get out of it what you put into it. diet affects things a lot.

Well I havnt really gotten bigger I've stayed the exact same weight at 170 pds but my body fast % has gone down alot it was at 25% when I started right now its at 13% and its only been a year. Now me not gaining is mostly of because of a crap diet, but im not one to fat reduced and replaced with muscle im happy.
