Or more specifically, does anyone read *fiction* books anymore?

If not, whats the reason for it? (I'm not going to put you down, I havent read a fiction book myself for ages, just wondering about the reason)

Yes. Yes there are.

The Silmarillion
Catch 22
Rebecca
Notes from a small island
There and back again
War and peace
Dracula

To name a few. Incedently, i tried to read "his dark materials" and couldn't really get on with it.

yeah i was thinking of getting catch 22

and i also lost track by the 3rd book from "his dark materials" i still got the books on my book shelf.

I read the first few books of harry potter when i was like 12, i started chariots of the gods less then a year aog but found it rather bland.

years ago i read the sterkarm handshake, thats a great book.

In my hands-memories of a holocaust rescuer is good but like with many books i stoped reading for a while and never bothered to get back in to them.

P.S is this the start of the sosuave book club? :p

Reading used to be one of my primary interests...until I started university. After reading text books and analysing literature, the last thing I want to do with my recreation time is read a book. :(

i used to read alot, usually 3-4 books a week before i went to the army.

i would recommend The Wheel of Time series, a reaaaallyy long read (11 books with 1000pages each). And any Tom Clancy book with 'Jack Ryan' as the main characther is recommended.

I read the Discworld series a lot, I've read maybe a quarter of them. Also I've been reading some Slovenian and Bosnian classic writers, great stuff.

Read Steven Pressfield's historical fiction on Ancient Greece.

Also read James Clavell's Asian Saga - particularly Shogun, Taipan.

There are some really strong male characters in these books to be inspired by. Not only that but they teach you about important events in history.

yes, I read books all the time, at least 3-4 a month. Fiction, non-fiction, memoirs, "science for dummies" - anything :D
