So does anyone here work, while they are at work, or just surf the net? Ever since the new board has come up and I can see how many members are viewing it seems to me that the busiest hours are daytime. I'm sure a lot of the European members may be checking from home but what about everyone else.

I usually keep ss.net open in a tab on my slow days. Its good to get paid to be here.:)

I browse at work. My job requires long hours of browsing the internet, reading newspaper, magazines and sleeping in my car.

I work for the state. They hire mostly idiots and *******s. If you qualify then all you gotta do is apply, or perhaps take an exam and be put on a list.

It doesn't matter how good-looking you are, how romantic you are, how funny you are... or anything else. If she doesn't have something INVESTED in you and the relationship, preferably quite a LOT invested, she'll dump you, without even the slightest hesitation, as soon as someone a little more "interesting" comes along.

i never questioned the word lumper when i was getting hired for the position.
but it's basically where huge warehouse companies have trucks coming in and out dropping trailers of at the docking bays and instead of hiring workers to sit around and wait for these trucks to come in, they call me and unload the goods.
it's good money.

example if i unload 7 trucks in a day. thats 35$ per trailer= 245$. and it usually only takes 4 or 5 hours. but the sucky thing is they don't take tax off your checks.

so at the end of the year i owe money.booooooo.

I hate jobs I first think are under the table, than they send in a tax form on me.

I used to do stuff like that, and the money was 5hit. $5 per hour times 4 hours to unload a trailer = $20. The trailers full of toilet paper were the easiest to unload.

I make three times as much money now. When it's slow here (like it is now), I sit on sosuave.

It's different being a lumper versus a warehouse boy.

You were a warehouse boy Desdinova. I've been there too. Sucks signing up for a company wage versus contractor wages like a lumper, I felt like such a chump:p

Okay, that makes more sense now. I was working through a lousy temp agency.

In other words, you ARE the temp agency ;)

you're exactly the kind of lazy-ass programmer who's responsible for most of my very shoddy, unfinished, barely running fukked up, rip-off software. :p

..but it's alright, I fully understand the lure of sosuave;)

while(you're a lazy ba$tard){

char[20] windows_and_other_software = sub-par;

}

p.s (like most on here) I'm a student

and so they should be - though in fairness, win xp isn't too bad. I haven't had any blue screens yet.

Fingers crossed that windows vista will be completely finished and contain vast improvements (without any severe security problems) *crosses fingers*
