Do you mean the origonal training they did? Like eating a soup from a bull's blood, being in the army from the age of 7 and wearing super simple clothes?

No, I didn't try that

Edit: I changed the to they in the first sentence

Sparta was a Greek city state not a person, maybe your confusing it with non-Spartan Spartacus. But I didn't join the army at age 7 either.

Sure thing, Ice. I thought you typed wrong. I don't think anyone here does that (the army thing @ age 7) either.

However, WALDEN read this:

"About 2 in every 100 Americans are in a Spartan training camp where every day they lift weights, eat what they are given, do what they are told, and are forbidden most outside contact. In this atmosphere, the utmost importance is placed on combative prowess since all creative energies can only be directed towards bettering their martial discipline. Within this camp, there are high rates of violence and some Spartan trainees get killed. The people continually work out to maintain a combat physique which will give them respect and the capacity to defend themselves from their enemies while their weaker enemies learn to harness topical weapons in order to compete against their brute force foes."
Mike Walden, if you wan't to join this Spartan training camp, just fly to the United States, kill someone, and before you know it they'll put you in a prison... ehh, Spartan camp.

:)

It's comedians week on Sosuave...

:D

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

A friend of mine took the spartan health regime, he quite liked it. It seems to focus on nutrition and compound weight exercises, i.e squats, pullups and chinups, shoulder press etc.

I am extremely sceptical

First of all, he makes some outrageous claims like this:

Following the dietary principles will let you lose fat fast and easily without going hungry or losing muscle size.
Maybe if he drugs you up, you won't feel hunger

Then, when you lose 25 kilos in a month (as most of his clients did), you'll lose about 10 kilos of muscle. When you have a really small bf, your immune systen is weakened significantly. You're more succeptible to colds and esp tuberculosis.

I don't particularly want that.

To be super ripped is just as bad for your health as to be obese.

In my opinion, the perfect body is one that's flexible, cardio conditioned and has good amount of muscle. Cover that with a finger-thick layer of fat and you're perfect :)

But that's just me, and I could be wrong...

Ice, when you say 'super ripped,' how low of a BF% do you have in mind? Are we talkin something extreme, along the lines of 5%, or something more common in the world of amateur bodybuilding, such as 8-9%?

They didn't give exact body fat % because they didn't measure it. Basically the study just noted that visibly chunky people had 10 times less chances to get TB

I think they took the layer of fat on the stomach as the control variable.

But it makes sence, right? If you have some fat deposits, you can replace cell membranes much more easily in case an infection occurs.

BTW: my mantoy confirms it. I was quite skinny during childhood and it was always positive. Now I gained some weight, tested last month and it's so totally negative, there's not a single spot :)

Actually I agree. Too much (obese) or too little (skinny) is bad.
