Obviously, less intelligent people are poorer - and intelligent people tend to know enough to take care of themselves. But even with that bias, it seems that unintelligent, ugly women are not pursued by non-poor men, whereas unintelligent but attractive women are, to some extent. (Intelligent & ugly women either go for equally intelligent, ugly men, or simply become old maids.) The net effect is that attractiveness bubbles up to wealth.
Of course, this is not always the case. There are plenty of unintelligent, attractive women that get knocked up by some equally unintelligent, attractive men (how would strip joints get talent without them? :crackup But it seems that the chance of a poor woman being ugly is higher than the chance of a woman in the general population.
