Do you think this YouTube shooter chick was angry because YouTube was denying her viewer attention?

She claims YouTube demonetized her channel and suppressed her videos from getting views.

I kind of agree with her points, though she was obviously mentally ill to do what she did.

There are tons of videos on YouTube that are extremely inappropriate for kids or sexually explicit in general and yet they don't get demonetised. There is one rule for some people and another rule for others, combined with a bad algorithm picking top content. YouTube needs to get on with fixing it.

Logan Paul, who is a total d*uchebag youtuber with millions of cult-like kid subscribers, didn't get demonetised for weeks even though he uploaded a video in which he filmed himself standing next to a hanging corpse and mocking a suicide victim. YouTube even promoted this sickening video to #1 on "trending" - which requires YT staff to sign off on.

Why did they give him such exceptional freedom? Because he's one of their top earners. Money talks. It was only after huge public backlash that they hit his channel.

Her content by contrast did not look inappropriate, but was always demonetised - it's easy to see why she finds this unfair, when Miley Cyrus can mime getting f*cked in the butt on stage and this is apparently kid friendly.

There was a whole channel run by an ex-pornstar in which she pretended to be teaching cookery skills but it was basically her walking around naked in a backless apron showing her arse off to kids. Not demonetised for months.

It's just a jungle at the moment.

Just search Logan Paul suicide forest on YT.

He fakes being emotional (since he already saw the body before he started filming), and then he starts LAUGHING (not even shock laughter, actual goofy "trying to impress the kids" sort of laughter) and shouting "We just found a dead body!!!". Even though he went on holiday to a forest renowned for suicide in Japan just to find a body...

Oh, and during the whole video he's wearing a f*cking Toy Story alien hat. It's so ridiculously tasteless it's unreal, the guy's a total c**t.

Here's a good commentary on it:

No. If you go on any YouTuber’s channel, find that all of them say the same thing. That YouTube is ****ing them up the ass with demonetization and viewership. This is because YouTube is owned by Google, which is a progressive left and pussified company, yet the platform YouTube is ~80% male and more conservative. This is where all the backlash comes from. It’s not attention. It’s google being a ****ing dumbass.

You can't blame Google/YouTube for the demonitizing. You have to blame the advertisers. What happens is when someone sees an ad, for let's say Pepsi, on a video applauding suicide, that makes Pepsi look bad.

People complained that Pepsi, or any 'X' advertiser, is supporting 'x' content. It's the same concept for Television shows. Certain shows will have certain ads during that shows play time.

So Pepsi goes to YouTube and demands that their ads get pulled from that video.

It's become a snowball effect when everyone started to get offended.

YouTube is just the middleman. You can't really blame the company for complying to what pays their bills.

To be fair, Pepsi, Coke etc. are the biggest hypocrites around when it comes to advertising and their "brand". They'll pull out from a YouTuber who makes a silly N*zi joke, but they think nothing of running ads literally every 5 minutes on the news during the Las Vegas shooting. Disgusting.
