Do you think the rise of the maiden aunt is due to hypergamy?

I was reading this article, and it got me thinking:

my opinion: Maiden aunts are simply old maids that were too picky in their choice of men, but thankfully did not allow themselves to get knocked up - and their being a big part of their niece/nephew's lives is simply a way of assuaging their motherly instinct. In the old days, only the ugliest of woman didn't get married, but nowadays a lot of women aren't marrying soon enough, and not enough men are not "manning up" when they get older.

I've come across this a couple times. Hot girls or twin sisters. One has kids and marriage, the other is inseparable with the kids. When asked, they don't want kids of their own.

I've come across a few both male and female. I think the Confirmed Bachelor uncle/Old maid aunt comes down to a few things:
1)career comes before relationships of their own
2)maintained a reliance on their mother or father well into adulthood. Potential partners don't compare.
3)Very set in their routines . Won't change for partners
4)Social but superficial in their interactions. Hard to have a meaningful conversation.
5)not likely to like any commitment. Rents instead of buys houses, has trouble making decisions, don't plan too far in future.

I love employing the 30 year olds who still live with their parents. They have no social life, and don't miss work.

I think the mentality of 'women can sleep with as many men as she wants' lead to this. Some women are lucky enough that their ****scapade in their 20s is erased away from their lives by finding some nice guy to marry them.

Some others not so much. Some aged faster than others, that by their 30s, their wrinkles already show that they are already losing their SMV.

Men hesitate more to approach and tie the knots with a real woman, when the women they run into in their lives are riding ****s.

Yes, I think hypergamy is the main cause. There was a video on YouTube about low Japanese birth rates and "grass eating" men. The majority of the men wanted children but said they couldn't live up to female expectations. The females essentially corroborated this statement. They said the men would have to already own a house and make about 30% more money than they did. A lot of the women didn't even want kids because they thought it would suck up all their hard earned money from their career. They just shrugged and said it's not a problem as long as people migrate to Japan. So basically the women are committing ethnic suicde in the name of money and men are giving up.

nah in japan there is moee going on, most females would be willing to have children, but they also want to stop working and become housewifes, teh mens are not willing to pay teh bill for the family and let his life go to hell becasue of a female, so the guys don't go after then, females want men to lead then, in the end teh guys just pay for female company or marry a 2d character from a game.

simple put? the estress who teh japanese society push on people there make then less willing to make sacrifices for others and only to think by thenselfs, because in the end there is no gain to a men marry a female, so they give up
