Do I need to cancel the date?

G*d does not want me to date. After settling down in my new location with work, etc., I met a girl and we arranged a date for the middle of this week. However, I live in the northeast where another major storm is expected to hit - the night of our date. Because I'd have to drive 25-30 minutes at night in the middle of this storm, the inclement weather could be a problem.

What's the correct way to explain this and then suggest a day later in the week without her thinking I'm a flake? I fully intended to go on this date, but it looks like G*d doesn't want it to happen. In the past, my car getting incorrectly towed at work and a death in the family have stalled date plans (and never recovered). I half-joke that I've been snakebit with dating because of outside circumstances ruining plans, but I think now it's true.

If her interest was high prior to scheduling the date I don't think it will be a problem. I've rescheduled dates and meet-ups with no problems before.

No point in stressing about it, you're not going to go and put your safety in danger just for some pvssy. So just tell her what's up, and if she's worth anything then she'll understand.

I agree. Just tell her what's going on, and if she gets it then she'll understand, otherwise she is not worth it. Good Luck!

Let me just say that I feel you. I live in NY and just had to put three plates on hold because of this hurricane. Its been a mess. But if there is one thing i've learned over the years with this type of situation, its that if she's mature, and has a brain in her head, she'll be fine with the reschedule and will understand its not right to be goin out on a date in the middle of a huge f'n noreaster.

If she's weird, then its as simply as NEXT.

You guys are right. I texted her today, she understands and is willing to meet next week. My challenge now is to keep that high IL going. Since we started talking through an online site (and exchanged numbers/texted), I won't be running into her before then.
