Not exactly, but this is a good tip for newbies getting over their fear of approaches, as well anybody else maybe falling into a rut in need of a quick and easy confidence boost.

Today, I missed the bus by 1 second because the prick drove off with me frantically running alongside it. I then had to wait 30 minutes for the next.

So I sang to myself for 20 minutes, then got bored and decided to try waving at chicks passing by in their cars.

This was a freeway entrance, so the cars were slowing down to make the turn. It wasn't a dangerous intersection either, so it was a good place to practice this.

Everytime I spotted a good-looking woman approaching I gave a nice wave and smile. As you could imagine , this wasn't terribly often, but I waved 6 times in the 10 minutes.

I got four pleasant smiles and waves in return, one girl didn't notice, and another looked at me funny.

Of course it can't lead to number closes, but I found it worthwhile for 3 reasons:

1) I was able to refine my spotting skills from long distances to give me adequate preparation. This applies to any situation where you can DJ.

2) It showed that girls are very responsive to confident guys and definitely wouldn't be put off if you say hello randomly in the street. Except for that one cow, but there will always be those... This experiment even made me think that if a girl excitedly reponds to a such a 'safe' situation as this, she'd be even more excited if I showed more balls to actually talk to her.

3) It gave me the confidence boost to interact with other people before my old AFC mind convinced me to chicken out. So later on in the day, I spoke jovially with 4 random people, and got one phone number. It all seemed remarkably easy, unlike ever before!

The number close was pretty cool, I latched on to opportunity thrown out by this poor chump trying to tell me about politics outside the campus. He also asked a girl behind me with noisy shoes.

So I swung around and said something like, "they're terrible aren't they?" Then she opened right up to me as if she knew me her whole life. Never happened before. I ripped on her shoes, we got talking, and by the time we reached the street corner (just over 2 mins), I just went for the number and continued on my merry way.

So I got a number and was still on time for my lecture!

So try this waving thing guys for a morning 'warm-up' exercise if you like. Just find a place where the cars must slow down a little to pass in a non-dangerous area.

Hell, try it anywhere ;)

Good post, also walking around a very busy area and just saying "Hi" and smiling works well for your confidence too. I never thought about waving to people in cars.....
