yeah I know I know, that getting dinner is considered a bad first date on this site - however, I feel way more comfortable chillin at my fave restaurant than playin frisbee or going to a mall or whatever. my question is thus: when the bill comes, do I just pay my half and act like nothing is amiss?

If i asked the girl out to dinner, then I usually pay the whole thing.
If she asked u out then id expect her to pay, or atleast offer to pay.

Be prepared to pay for it all, but don't say no if she wants to pay for her half. As long as you don't make a big deal out of the bill, she won't think you are worried about money or buying her affection or anything like that.
Make sure to leave a nice tip too. She will probably take notice of how you tip the waitress and make judgments based on that.

YA LET ME KNOW IF HER PAYING THINGY GETS YOU A SECOND DATE.......

Okay you should have prefaced it over the phone........and explained how women have worked so hard to be treated as equals, how they are getting CEO jobs and may infact be President one day. So the whole equality thingy should not be a shocker when the bill arrives.

SECOND-meet her for a date..........AFTER DINNER TIME, stop makign dates before supper.

THIRD-she's almost a complete stranger.......YOU WANNA BUY A COMPLETE STRANGER AN EXPENSIVE DINNER AND SHE MIGHT NOT EVEN BE ATTRACTED TO YOU...........WHY WOULD U DO THAT. Even if she is you are not a walking ATM.

4-do the old OH my gosh.........I left my wallent at home.....how embarassing.

5-get your meal then pull a Whoudini and Vanish

6-GO TO AN ALL YOU CAN EAT BUFFET

7-buying dinner sets up a future expectation and she may be using the "old fashioned" line on you.

8-TEASE HER ABOUT HOW WELL SHE HAS DONE FOR HERSELF, BRAG ABOUT HER JOB , THEN say whens the last time you bought a man dinner.

9-CLAIM ITS YOUR BIRTHDAY

10-coupon clip for a discount

11-INVITE HER TO DINNER AT YOUR HOUSE........chics love a man that can cook

12-THERES ALWAYS CHUCK E CHEESE

There's nothing wrong with meeting someone out for dinner. I've done it plenty of times. The problem is that it can get expensive and the calories can start adding up once you get a lot of these things going. If you're comfortable meeting them there, go for it. To be honest, I won't meet a woman at a place to eat anymore though ( no money or time for that), but my limitations need not burden you or anyone else. You could pay, go half-n-half, or one person pay for dinner and the other pay for drinks. I don't think it really matters. The best way to pay for a meal is to cook for her, if your place is a pigpen and you don't want to her to see it, you can always throw a grill in your trunk and go to some scenic overlook of the city.

Why would you ask her out then? If she's paying for herself, I'm sure she would much rather go with a girlfriend than with you.
