I think this photo is a perfect example since both men are standing side by side.
On the left you have an American General with the last name Donahue. Donahue is an Irish surname, but this is a typical Western European look (Irish, British, French, German, Belgian, etc.)
On the right you have a Polish Slavic General. This is a typical look of a lot of Poles, Russians, Ukrainians, Slovaks, Czechs, Belarusians etc. Croatians, Serbs, Bulgarians have a similar look but will be darker.
Notice the striking difference.
Western Europeans: Longer and more oval shapes faces, larger eyes.
Eastern Europeans: Rounder/Broad face shape, high cheekbones, deep-set eyes, eyes are a more almond shape.
I know the distinction is not as strong amongst Western and Eastern Europeans, but this is a good example.
