Alright, here's my sad story. I've been overweight more or less all of my life, I am 23 now and just decided to diet...I've always wanted to lose weight, but for whatever reason I just never dieted before.

My all time heaviest is about 310lbs. I tend to get fatter around this time of year and lose a little in the summer when I'm working outdoors.

I started the diet onb Nov 1st. I was 290lbs when I started it.

I'm at 265lbs now, which is still way more than I want, but the smallest I've been since my early teens, and all I've pretty much done is cut pops down from 4 or so a day to 4 or so a week. I cut burgers down from 4 or 5 a week to a couple a week without the bun. I skip fast food now entirely, and cutting far back on juices.

Pretty much just high protien, and low carbs. Been eating a lot of baked chicken, salad, veggies, turkey, and slamming water any time I'm thirsty. Although I have pasta once a week, down from twice. I imagine the only reason I didn't weight more is because I do have a job that involves a ton of heavy lifting and I'm on my feet for 8 hours a day.

I have no idea how to do this right. I know I'm on the right start, but where can I go from here, what am I missing out on.

I have a little weight bench I use, outside of work that's my only real exercise, I know I should take up jogging and other cardio, but the gut's just too much right now and I just get worn out. I know it's something I'll have to do and push myself at, but I'd like to know how much more I can lose just at this pace alone first.

Any advice is much appreciated.

Respect to you for making the decision to diet and congratulations on the losses you have achieved so far. As Sazuki said, just keep trying to cut out more bad food as you progress and you're on the right track.

Any successful diet is about locking into a determined state of mind. After that it's just a matter of time.

Doing some cardio exercise is a good idea, even if you can only manage a little. If you get tired after 5 minutes, it doesn't matter as long as you're exercising. Go for 8 minutes next week, 10 the week after and so on.

Also, make sure you are eating light, but regular - approx every 3 hours - to keep your metabolism high and your hunger down.

Best of luck!

Don't know. Like I said, I don't know much about this stuff. I'll start keeping track.

Today I didn't eat much. Just Cheerios for breakfast, a few glasses of water, and a skinless baked chicken breast with salad for dinner...I know that isn't much, but I don't have this down to a science yet.
