Hi guys,
I have been having problems for a while with depression. Basically I feel flat and apathetic most of the time and get very little pleasure from life. Despite dealing with the underlying psychological issues, exercising a lot, and trying some antidepressants I cannot seem to shift it.

Has anyone here ever had any problems with depression and what helped for you? Have any of you had any luck with anti-depressant-I am considering having another try.

Go and see an actual professional. The drugs wont work without sorting the problems.

I was MAJORLY depressed in my mid teens for about 3 years. Then I finally made my way out of it. Yes, meds helped, but they wont fix your problems. Only you can fix your problems and you need to find that strength - usually a good therapist can help you find out your best [healthy] coping mechanism.

I dont feel it's truely gone away. I still dont get THAT much pleasure from life. But finishing an assignment way before time, making gains [weights], getting looks from women, going out for the occasional drink with my mates... hell... life really isnt that bad after all :)

Just take the pills...depression can be chemical and hard to fix. That being said I took them just to bull**** and I sorta got hooked so don't even go to a shrink if your just bored or tired.

I recommend to you making and going out with freinds. When I'm at home too long i get depressed other than that I've never been truly depressed. Why?Cuz I stay busy.

My mother has depression.
I know a little bit about it.

Most times it is just a chemical imbalance in the brain that causes depression --> and really is no fault of your own.

Go see a specialised psychaitrist....GP's are crap.....
the psychaitrist will sort you out....and find the right type of medication that is perfect for you

good luck

Just try to stay away from MEDICATION brutha. its not good. Can get addicted, and end up worse than having the actual sickness.
I know of 3 people close to me, who fall into the above description.

Goodluck.
