It's already Federal law that you have to give up your guns when you have an order of protection issued against you. Those orders are typically rubber-stamped, with minimal opportunity to contest them.

Exactly right. In Illinois anyway, and probably other places, an "emergency order of protection hearing" is one of the few legal hearings where it only takes a petitioner (generally the woman) and a Judge to run the hearing. The Judge rules without the accused\respondent (male) present. If the OP is granted the respondent doesn't typically know the hearing is even going until the Sheriff's Office shows up, hands him the papers, and collects his guns. And even when the OP is dropped, getting the guns back isn't always a slam dunk.

It even gets worse than this. If you are living with a women, when she petitions the court, she gets to decide what personal items the respondent\male can have. So she can write on there "he gets the pink tooth brush and purple yoga pants".. So when the guy comes with the Deputy to take his stuff and tires to take the blue toothbrush and black pair of shorts, the Deputy can say "nope it says pink toothbrush and purple yoga pants, you cant take the blue toothbrush and black shorts".. Its really nasty stuff guys. I've been through it.. Was kicked out of my own home with only a list of things that SHE wanted me to have, which was a list of cloths she knew I never wore. I didnt get to take any of my cloths that I regularly wore.

The first part also applies to Maryland. Not so much on the second part, as there is a bit more leeway as far as "personal" items go. Want to take the blue toothbrush and black shorts? Cool. Want the 60" plasma flat screen with the PS4 and 20 games? Hold on a minute.

So what can you do about it? Prenuptial agreement? Not getting married? I mean why not, a lot of people in Russia living in so called civil marriages, you just don't sign a paper, that's all, other than that it's the same thing. Signing don't give you happiness, or guarantees, why do it?

Making prostitution legal would fix it in the USA; at least for smart men.

I'm pretty sure that no one took the gun ban in Chicago seriously. I know the cops definitely didn't give a crap, that's for sure. CPD just has the mentality now to let everyone who wants to be a criminal kill each other. They'll only protect the downtown area really.
