How to approach this?

I have more than a few friends who have this entitlement attitude... some with jobs some without. Living in various 3rd world countries has given me a lot of perspective on the world. Apparently, I piss off people quite a great deal when I comment on their whining and bullsh1t.

I have one old friend who in one breath says: "I hate how the immigrants get all our jobs!" and in the other says: "THAT job is below someone of my station and pedigree!". He is all anti-establishment, yet has no job, is depressed, no money and no gf.

There are plenty of kids here who seem to think they are owed a job yet have degrees in Arts and other useless things. When I tell them about opportunities for them at home to make half decent money, they say they just aren't interested in those things.

Recently my friend sent me an article from yahoo he thinks is a tragedy and defiance against the state... some guy lit himself on fire and died because of it.

People seem to like to do that, can't understand it myself... no country, government or culture is worth dying for. I don't care to protest anything anymore, there are people bigger than us, we are in no position to change anything.. His death will be marked in a yahoo article, read by a few and then ultimately forgotten forever, what a waste. Instead that man could have protested by dedicating his life to helping others, study hard, become a doctor or something more useful to the world. I would say North Americans are out of touch with the realities of the rest of the world, period. Immigrants are taking over? Yes, because they know what the world is and what its not. North Americans are too busy squabling over things that don't matter, concentrating on things that don't build wealth or structure in society. Canadians/Americans.... the first world is largely a spoiled society and a sick one. Given how lucky that man is, self immolation is the biggest act of ungratefulness he could show. He should be thanking his lucky stars he wasn't born to a 4th world state, raised in slums with no plumbing, no medical facilities and nobody to care. There are still plenty of places he could work, make a good living in the USA...

The world is a terrible place where only the strong survive. If you are not useful to someone, you are garbage and will be tossed aside as such... that is the reality of life. If you aren't creating something for the people that have more than you, then you are stealing it from them. They don't see it any differently... if you ain't with the group, then you are useful to no man. Self immolation is defiance? What are you defying? We NEED the government as much as they need us. Governments provide us with food, clean water and some semblance of a life. The establishment has its problems but mostly its ok, mostly people have no idea how bad it is in other parts of the world. A bit different seeing it on TV then when its sitting right beside you.

This man was insane and in some parts stupid, he will change nothing. The world 2, 20, 200, 2,000, 20,000 and 2,000,000 years from now will still operate on human dynamics, greed, servitude and some sort of government.

How to deal with people who think they're owed something: let them hang themselves. You just keep soldiering on, keep advancing yourself.

I work for ever DIME I have. Sure, my parents (others total about $50 I guess) will give me $200 or $200 worth of "stuff" for my birthday or for Christmas, but other than that...And I DO have customers who give me free sh!t all the time, half of it I don't want/need. If I make a suggestion or ask, I usually receive the item I'm alluding free, or at like 40% discount. I received a $80 waterpick for cleaning your gums free, a $50 iphone case for free, just showing the manufacturer of it my brittle beaten down beaten up case, he sympathized and gave me a new, rare, OD green, one. I get free, quality, food. Free sunglasses cleaning stuff, free toothpaste, free floss, donuts, etc etc.

BUT I work Hard for everything else, and FEEL it when the costs of say, my cable, my cellphone, my light, gas, and water (seems like I've got two separate bills for the same sh!t a lot of times but I GUESS it's legit what they're billing me for) ALL go up simultaneously thereby eradicating my raise I get every 6 months.

I agree with the OP, not all but, the thoughts are right about. What gets ME though, I've been ALL over the state in which I live. I live in one of the wealthiest states, I've seen some (no, not some, but a LOT) of uber houses. Now, I'm not talkin about Hollywood or McMansions, I could never fathom seeing THAT in person. That's just a ridiculous area, a lot of California is. I'm talking about just the sundry sundry vulgar $500K houses on UP! like Many million dollar homes, and 1.5 million homes. I'm like....sheezit, what?? There are THAT many mofos that can AFFORD all that sh!t!, yet, I see no for sale signs, so I guess people are (still) living there. I mean, I, could barely see myself Ever getting a $400K house, much less any of that sh!t. I mean, in 10 years I could have $400K house, but STILL be in a little debt. But many of these people, I'd imagine, with the $300K and up, MUST be In Over Their Heads! I mean, In Debt...for a while...20/30 years...plus they've (or the b!tch in the family) "gotta have" the beamer, or the mercedes, sitting in the driveway. How do they EVER justify that cost?? that for MOST people would take YEARS of their lives to pay off. Sure, many may lease it.

There has to be liek 80-90% of Americans (who are living in the $300K and up house + lux cars in drive) up to their eyeballs in debt, and for WHAT?? It's very retarded, because that's YEARS outta your life to work to pay for that, or do ALL these people really have trust funds, and inheritance to pay for all these things in the blink of an eye without serious thought about it?

Having to WORK for every DIME I make, makes me Seriously consider any purchase over $2000. I just bought a new computer (to build) for $2139 yesterday. It will take me a Month to gain it all bought, kinda painful but I'll just swallow it, cause I wanted to build my first kickass pc, I've always had a laptop (my current one is 2 yrs old and still working great though).

2 months ago, I bought a $3700 bike, this will take a couple of months to swallow whole like a snake swallowing a rat. I pay for the sh!t up front at the first credit card bill, I see these purchases as "building credit" in some sense, but I don't ever want to USE credit in my future. This is my upbringing, my parents talking...ahhhh, "you need to build your credit, son..." Uhhh, ok, but I hope to never USE it. I don't want the turmoil of debt in my life, BUT SO MANY DO!!!

I'm calling out this saying as "wank" amd bullshyt.

Of course people think the world owes them. Don't you? What, you do shyt and don't want a reward? And when I say reward I don't mean monetary (although of course it could be).

You practise game right? You want a reward for your efforts. You want the women of the world whom you "game", to fvck you, right?

When an athlete wins a championship he / she doesn't want a reward? Doesn't want, no, doesn't EXPECT a reward from the world? 'Cause they fvcking do.

Even philanthropists who are in a position to help those whom need it, want a reward. No matter how big or small they want their altruisic efforts recognised even if they never say it.

I mean, I could go on and on with examples here.

I am going to tell it to you straight - no human does anything without wanting something owed to him / her.

So, do I think the world owes me? You fvcking better believe it! Do I have an entitlement attitude? Fvcking aye I do. Why do you think revolutions start? When people believe that aren't getting the shyt the believe they are entitled to, they rebel. Look at the Arab spring as a recent example.

So, next time you point the finger at someone and say "you think the world owes you something", remember that you have one finger pointing at them, and three of your own pointing back at you.

You know what he meant. He's talking about people who think they deserve more than they've worked for.
How is that quantified? Who decides whom deserves what? Who decides whom has worked thus hard so qualifies for thus reward?

Btw, if you want to do sweet fvck all and get more than you deserve, then running for public office is not a bad way to accomplish that. Look at the eggheads in the US Congress as a prime example.

My friend has no job and no education but thinks that he should be given a 50 to 70k/year for his birth-right.

Running for public office is doing something, like coming out of a house... it is a rare occasion that happens. He doesn't want to hand out resumes either, that is also below him. He frequently gets frustrated when he hands out one resume a month and doesn't get a call back from the dream company. He's been living with his grandparents for nearly 10 years.

He says that the country owes us much more and that its futile to work only to be given a small salary... he also thinks that a million dollars is nothing, although he doesn't even have 10. Some people are this dense. It just disgusted me, I've offered him very VERY good jobs paying high salaries and all he has to do is get up off the couch and TAKE the job offer and instead he refuses out right saying the job is below his standard, he couldn't get along with the people or simply has no interest in contributing to the corporate world.... that is the height of spoiled/ungreatful. Then in the next breath he will go right back to complaining that there are no good jobs at home.

You'd think this would be ONE guy but actually I know about 5 or 10 guys like this. Sickens and disgusts me. People have been given a free ride too bloody long.

No different than sluttvy women who complain that there are no good men out there. Spoiled and Entitled.

One party decides what work needs done and what he'll pay, another party decides what work he'll do and what pay he'll accept. If they agree, and if the work is performed satisfactorily, each gets what they deserved. Surely you've engaged in such a transaction at least once.
Yep.
And if they don't agree?........ look no further than the Tea Party goofballs to see what mayhem can ensue.
